Katy ISD Schedules January Board Meetings: What Katy West 1 Residents Should Know
Katy Independent School District is beginning the new year with two important Board of Trustees meetings this January. Whether you're a parent, staff member, or resident in Katy West 1, these meetings provide valuable insight into how decisions are made in one of the fastest-growing districts in Texas.
The Work Study Meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 12, 2026, followed by the first Regular Board Meeting of 2026 on Tuesday, January 20. Both meetings will be held in the Board Room of the Katy ISD Education Support Complex, located at 6301 S. Stadium Lane, Katy, TX, 77494. While agendas have not yet been posted for either meeting, Katy ISD community members can expect both sessions to address district priorities, operational updates, and early-year planning.
Both meetings will be streamed live and later archived for public viewing in accordance with district policy.

What to Expect at Board Meetings
Katy ISD board meetings serve as a platform for reviewing district operations, financial matters, capital projects, academic strategies, and student success initiatives. Although the official agendas will be posted at least 72 hours in advance—as required by the Texas Open Meetings Act—community members are encouraged to tune in to stay up-to-date with developments that affect local schools, including those serving Katy West 1.
Work study meetings are typically more discussion-based and may include preliminary conversations around upcoming action items, district data reviews, and presentations from staff. Regular board meetings, by contrast, are where official votes and policy decisions are made.
