Katy ISD Reveals Mascot and Logo for Newest High School
Katy ISD has revealed the new logo and mascot for its upcoming institution, Freeman High School. Representing the Golden Eagles as their symbol, Freeman High School is poised to become an integral part of the Katy ISD family, and is a result of the progressive investment made through the 2021 Bond package. The school is not only an additional educational facility, but an emblem of the relentless pursuit for excellence in the community of Katy.
Freeman High School is nestled in the northwest quadrant of the district, at 7800 Katy Hockley Road in Katy. The eagerly anticipated school is due to open its doors in the Fall of 2024. Students currently enrolled at Paetow High School and Katy High School, encompassing the areas to be zoned to Freeman, would form the first cohort of students at this new high school. This includes all high school-aged students in the master-planned community Elyson.
The necessity behind the development of Freeman High School lies in the over-enrollment of students at Katy High School, which currently exceeds its building capacity. The projected increase in enrollment over the next eight years calls for a solution that will not only help balance the student population, but also pave the way for a safer and engaging learning environments. Through the 2021 Bond package, Freeman High School is the strategic answer to this growing need.

"As we define our core values, we will be guided by the characteristics of the Golden Eagle. We can't wait to see our students, staff and the community unite as we embark on this exciting journey together."
The unveiling of the logo and mascot is a significant milestone for Freeman High School. It signifies the school's upcoming journey to become a beacon of academic excellence and community pride within Katy ISD.
