The HLSR School Art Program has been encouraging and cultivating the talents of young Texans for over five decades. The innovative program offers students from Pre-K through 12th grade the chance to participate in district art shows, secure scholarships, attend enriching summer workshops, and exhibit their creations in the prestigious Hayloft Gallery. The program collaborates with approximately 130 different school districts, encompassing both private and parochial schools within the Houston area. Every year, thousands of entries pour in, showcasing the remarkable talent within our community.

A significant part of this program is the School Art Auction, where all submitted work is eligible. Additionally, the HLSR School Art Program goes beyond the traditional classroom settings to host art contests in local children's hospitals, helping young patients explore their creativity within the confines of their hospital rooms. Similarly, the Graphic Design Contest pushes students to envision and create a Western art-themed poster promoting the HLSR School Art Program.
