Katy Christian Ministries Seeks Easter Basket Donations for Over 400 Area Children

February 01 2024

In April, Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) will delivery Easter cheer to hundreds of children across the Katy area, and they need your help.

Operation Easter has been an annual tradition for Katy Christian Ministries since 2018. Katy resident and KCM volunteer Nanette Kitchen had the initial vision for this program, with the hope of spreading cheer to low income families served by KCM's Social Services and Crisis Center. Now, she is the Operation Easter Volunteer Project Lead.

Over the years, this initiative has grown along with the number of children served by the organization. Churches, groups, individuals, and even kids throughout Katy have come together each year to provide the items needed for the baskets like candy and small toys. Last year, KCM prepared 300 Easter baskets and this year, the number of baskets needed has grown exponentially to over 400.

The Katy community is invited once again to participate in the Operation Easter initiative with KCM. Monetary donations are requested so that KCM can purchase baskets, candy, toys and other needed items for the baskets. Each basket costs $10, with donation increments of $30 available for those interested in contributing. Donations are appreciated by March 1, 2024 to allow enough time for supplies procurement.
