Katy Celebrates Black Heritage with Family Festival in Woodsland Park
The Katy community is gearing up to celebrate its rich African American heritage with the Black Heritage Family Festival slated for Sunday, September 1, 2024. The festival, presented by the Katy Texas African American Heritage Society, gives the community a chance to celebrate and explore Black heritage after the rain-checked Juneteenth festivities.
Free to enter and open to the public from 11 AM to 3 PM, the Black Heritage Family Festival invites all to immerse themselves in a culture-rich celebration of family, community, and empowerment. The festival will take place at Woodsland Park, located at 443 Danover Road in Katy.
Activities throughout the day cater to a wide range of interests and age groups. Foodies can enjoy a diverse selection from a variety of food trucks, while music lovers can look forward to live performances, including a special performance by LT and The Zydeco Mob between 1 PM and 3 PM. Boutique vendors will be showcasing their unique goods, while information booths and voter registration services will be available for those looking to make a difference.
