Jarrell ISD’s Laura Buckley Honored as Region 13 'Star of the Month' for Heart-Led Leadership
In a heartfelt moment of recognition, Jarrell Independent School District’s own Laura Buckley, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, was named the Education Service Center Region 13 “Star of the Month”—an honor reserved for standout leaders across the region’s 80 school districts.
The surprise celebration took place on Friday, January 9, 2026, in front of Buckley’s colleagues and peers, where she was recognized not only for her professional accomplishments, but for the impact of her unwavering dedication to the students, staff, and families of Jarrell ISD.
For Buckley, the recognition was personal.
“Jarrell is more than a school district. It’s home,” said Buckley. “I’m shocked by this award because, to me, I’m simply doing what I love. Serving Jarrell ISD is one of the greatest honors of my life. This community means everything to me. Our students, our staff, and our families inspire me every day, and this recognition belongs to them as much as it does to me.”
A Career Built on Compassion and Community Impact
A proud Jarrell ISD graduate herself, Buckley has spent more than 35 years serving her hometown district in a variety of roles—including teacher, counselor, director, and now Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. Her career reflects a deep-rooted passion for education, leadership, and the long-term well-being of students.
In her current role, Buckley collaborates closely with principals, instructional coaches, directors, and local community partners to uphold the district’s student-centered mission. Day after day, often behind the scenes, she has carried the responsibility of this growing district with grace, resilience, and a deep sense of care for every student, staff member, and family.”
A Celebration of Service in Jarrell ISD and Beyond
