For local pet owners, the first date to remember is Wednesday, Sept. 30. The Jarrell FFA Pet Vaccination Clinic is scheduled from 5 to 8:30 p.m., according to the district calendar.

The clinic is one of several Jarrell FFA activities appearing on the district calendar as the school year gets underway. For families looking for pet vaccination opportunities in Jarrell, the evening event provides a local option connected to the district's agricultural education community.

Jarrell High School Marching Band Heads to Midway

Saturday, Oct. 3, will be a busy day for the Cougar community. Jarrell High School's marching band is scheduled to compete in an all-day marching contest at Midway High School, according to the district calendar.

The competition gives Jarrell High School band students another chance to take their work from rehearsals to the field, while giving families and supporters an opportunity to follow the band's fall marching season. The district calendar also lists a UIL Region Marching Contest at Midway High School later in October, on Oct. 17.

Community Food Distribution Planned for Oct. 3

Back in Jarrell that same Saturday, a community food distribution is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. at 305 Limestone Terrace, Suite D. The event appears on Jarrell ISD's district and campus calendars.
