How Fort Bend County Animal Services is Spreading Holiday Cheer — and How You Can Help
As the holiday season warms hearts across Fort Bend County, Fort Bend County Animal Services (FBCAS) is inviting residents from Katy, Fulshear, Richmond, and surrounding communities to share that festive spirit with the animals who need it most.
The beloved “Stuff the Stockings” tradition is back for its 11th year, kicking off December 8 and running through December 24 at the FBCAS shelter, located at 1210 Blume Rd, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Each kennel now features a hanging stocking — and the shelter is asking for community members to stop by with toy or treat donations to fill them.
Every gift helps brighten the holidays for dogs and cats spending the season in the shelter, waiting for a forever home. Whether it’s a squeaky toy, soft treat, or simply your presence, the initiative brings both joy and essential enrichment to animals in care. Visitors are encouraged to meet the pets, stuff a stocking, and maybe even find a new furry friend to adopt or foster.

Looking for love this holiday season?
Don't miss the Home for the Holidays Adoption Event happening Saturday, December 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Building B of the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds, located at 4310 TX-36 S, Rosenberg, TX 77471. With dozens of adorable, adoptable pets ready for a second chance, this event is a chance to bring home unconditional love just in time for the holidays.
Not ready to adopt? Fostering saves lives.
FBCAS is urging the community to consider opening their homes — even temporarily — to a shelter pet over the holidays. The shelter is currently full, and fostering makes space for more animals in need. Even a short-term foster placement provides pets with comfort, love, and socialization during a time that can be stressful in the shelter environment. And for many families, the joy of sharing the holidays with a foster pet is a gift in itself.

It's a great opportunity to learn how you can make a difference, whether you're passionate about cats, dogs, animal enrichment, or community outreach.
