Houston Police Executive Assistant Chief Keith Seafous Honored with SAR Law Enforcement Medal at Cy-Fair Chamber Luncheon

December 22 2025

In a heartfelt and patriotic moment that blended history with honor, the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce spotlighted one of Houston’s finest during its December General Membership Luncheon, held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Berry Center. Executive Assistant Chief Keith Seafous of the Houston Police Department was named the First Responder Honoree of the month, receiving accolades from both civic leaders and community members.

In front of a crowd that included local officials, veterans, community leaders, and Seafous’ own family, the Chief was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the Cy-Fair Chamber. The highlight of the afternoon came when Tom Jackson, a prominent local leader and representative of the Texas Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Robert Rankin Chapter, presented Seafous with the SAR Law Enforcement Medal.

The prestigious medal is reserved for those in law enforcement who have served with distinction, dedication, and impact—a description that perfectly fits Chief Seafous’ career.

“On this day, 252 years ago, a group of men aided by enterprising ladies had a holiday party in the Boston Harbor,” said Jackson, referencing the Boston Tea Party with a touch of historical flair during his introduction. “It is most appropriate today that we recognize Executive Assistant Chief Keith Seafous of the Houston Police Department. He and his department of detectives help to guarantee our liberties outlined in the Bill of Rights by protecting lives and property.”

Tom Jackson—a CPA, longtime community volunteer, CFISD Trustee Emeritus, and a national and state leader within the Sons of the American Revolution—has a long history of honoring public servants who reflect the values of patriotism and service.

“Chief Seafous has exemplified what it means to lead with integrity in the face of challenges,” Jackson said. “His work uplifts the spirit of our founding ideals, and it’s an honor to celebrate that today.”

Executive Chief Thomas Hardin of HPD read aloud the commendation before presenting the medal to Chief Seafous, honoring his service and his leadership within Investigative Operations.

“I am commending Executive Assistant Chief Keith Seafous of the Houston Police Department for his exceptional leadership, steadfast management, and enduring commitment to excellence as Executive Assistant Chief of Investigative Operations,” Chief Hardin read. “Throughout his distinguished career, Chief Seafous has guided complex investigative efforts with integrity, clarity, and purpose—setting a standard that has strengthened the department and the broader community it serves.”

Hardin further emphasized the personal impact Seafous has made within the force, adding, “As chief of the department’s detectives, his dedication to advancing public safety and supporting the men and women under his command has left a lasting and meaningful impact.”

Chief Seafous stood with his wife and parents as he accepted the honors, surrounded by supporters and colleagues. Also present for the moment were Harris County Commissioners Tom S. Ramsey and Steve Radack, Texas State Representative Mike Schofield, and representatives from VFW Post 8905, including sponsor Col. Allan Perkins.

The event offered a moment of reflection on the dedication of law enforcement professionals who serve on the front lines, often behind the scenes, to ensure safety and justice in their communities.

The Sons of the American Revolution, through awards like the SAR Law Enforcement Medal, continue their mission to honor patriotism, service, and the foundational values of the United States. The recognition of Chief Seafous aligned with that vision—a reminder that the values forged centuries ago still resonate through the work of today's public servants.

As the luncheon came to a close, a brief photo opportunity captured the honoree, his family, and the many leaders who stood in support, a simple gesture to commemorate a lifetime of service and a moment of well-earned recognition.
