Turquoise Wine Bar to Bring New Chapter to Former Hidden Cellar Space in Cypress
A longtime gathering place for wine lovers in Cypress is preparing for its next chapter as Turquoise Wine Bar officially begins construction inside the former Hidden Cellar Wine Bar space at 16518 House & Hahl Rd., with an anticipated opening planned for August 2026.
For many residents near Bridgeland, Blackhorse Ranch and northwest Cypress, the transition represents more than a new business opening. It marks the continuation of a neighborhood destination that has spent more than a decade serving as a place where friendships formed over live music, charcuterie boards and glasses of wine became part of the local community fabric.
“When one door closes, a new one opens,” Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress shared in a recent announcement as remodeling and construction work officially got underway.
The company later followed with a May 6 update announcing the start of demolition work, calling it “the first big step toward opening our wine bar” and inviting the community to follow along as the space transforms ahead of opening day.
Hidden Cellar Leaves Behind a Lasting Legacy in Cypress
Before Turquoise Wine Bar’s arrival, the location housed The Hidden Cellar Wine Bar, an intimate 21+ venue that became known across Cypress as a cozy “hidden gem” for wine nights, live music and neighborhood gatherings.
Established in 2013, Hidden Cellar built a loyal following over its 12.5 years in business by creating what many locals described as a “Cheers”-style atmosphere where regulars were greeted by name and newcomers quickly felt welcome.
The venue became especially popular for Thursday through Saturday live music performances, wine tastings, girls’ nights out, birthday celebrations and casual date nights. Guests often returned for weekly specials, extensive wine selections and signature charcuterie offerings.
In an April 25 farewell message to the community, Hidden Cellar owners thanked Cypress residents for supporting the business for more than a decade while encouraging patrons to embrace the incoming concept.
“Thank you for an absolutely amazing 12.5 years in Cypress!!!” the post read. “Your Love and Support for this little Neighborhood ‘Cheers’ Wine Bar and Live Music Venue has been tremendous!”
The owners also expressed confidence in the new operators, adding, “There’s a New Fabulous Wine Bar Coming Soon. Please Support Them As You Have done For Us! They Are Good People!”
For many residents, the endorsement helped ease concerns about losing a familiar neighborhood staple while reinforcing that the spirit of the venue may continue under new ownership.
Turquoise Wine Bar Says Community Will Remain Central
Turquoise Wine Bar leadership says the Cypress location holds personal meaning for them as well.
“We are excited to be taking over The Hidden Cellar, as we have been regulars the last 10 years so it is special to us as well,” the company shared in a public post. “Can’t wait to welcome you this summer.”
Founded by Jen Sinconis and Laura Hernandez, Turquoise Wine Bar was created around the idea of building a more approachable and community-focused wine experience. The founders, both former corporate executives, envisioned a gathering place centered on connection, hospitality and inclusivity rather than exclusivity.
The Cypress location will be operated by local franchise owners Tara and Neil Cruz.
According to the company, the concept is designed to create an atmosphere “where people come as strangers and leave as friends.”
That neighborhood-first philosophy may resonate strongly in Cypress, where locally owned restaurants, gathering spaces and entertainment venues increasingly serve as community anchors amid continued residential growth.
What Guests Can Expect at Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress
Turquoise Wine Bar plans to bring a modern wine bar and tasting room experience to Cypress while preserving the welcoming atmosphere many residents associated with Hidden Cellar.
The concept features rotating monthly wine menus with sustainably produced boutique wines sourced from vineyards around the world, along with curated tasting flights that allow guests to explore different varietals and wine styles.
Flight offerings include selections such as sweet wines, sparkling wines, classic white wines, lighter reds and robust red wines, along with mixed tasting experiences designed for guests newer to wine culture.
Beyond wine, the menu includes sangrias, spritzes, beer options and non-alcoholic beverages, creating a broader social experience that appeals to groups with varied tastes.
Food offerings are expected to include charcuterie boards, bruschetta selections, flatbreads, pizzas, salads, paninis and desserts. Signature items range from baked brie and smoked salmon spread to truffle flatbreads, Italian-inspired dishes and rotating small bites designed for sharing.
The company also partners with wineries from Napa Valley, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Walla Walla, Santa Barbara and other well-known wine regions.
Cypress Continues to See Growth in Community Gathering Spaces
The arrival of Turquoise Wine Bar reflects a broader trend taking shape across Cypress and northwest Harris County as residents continue seeking locally driven dining and entertainment spaces that prioritize atmosphere and community connection.
As neighborhoods like Bridgeland continue expanding and new residential developments bring additional families into the area, businesses that create recurring social experiences have become increasingly valuable to residents looking to build local relationships close to home.
For many longtime Hidden Cellar patrons, the reopening also offers reassurance that the location itself will remain active rather than sitting vacant.
Instead of losing a recognizable community gathering place, residents may soon see a refreshed version of the venue continue serving as a local destination for live entertainment, wine tastings and neighborhood nights out.
What Happens Next
Construction and remodeling work is currently underway at the House & Hahl Road location, with Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress targeting an August 2026 opening.
The company says additional updates will be shared throughout the renovation process as the new wine bar takes shape.
For residents who spent years gathering at Hidden Cellar, the months ahead may feel bittersweet. But for many in Cypress, the transition also represents something familiar in fast-growing communities: preserving the spirit of a beloved local space while welcoming a new generation of ownership and ideas.
