Hoopla: Your Thanksgiving Road Trip Companion Through Fort Bend County Libraries

November 20 2023

This week, families across Fort Bend County will be hitting the road to visit family and friends near and far. Whether the drive will take an hour or cover 1,000 miles, audiobooks and eBooks are a great way to pass the time while absorbing some enrichment along the way.

hoopla, a digital service provided by Fort Bend County Libraries, offers free online and mobile access to thousands of eBooks, audiobooks, comics, movies, music, and more. With hoopla, you can borrow, instantly stream, and download dynamic content with a valid library card. All content is accessible via hoopla’s mobile app and www.hoopladigital.com. Most importantly, all items are always available and there are never any late fees. hoopla also offers dozens of Thanksgiving-themed audiobook and eBook titles for kids.

  • You can also create your account in the app by following the prompts. You can find the free "hoopla digital" app in the app store for your mobile device.

Don't have a Fort Bend County Libraries card? You can stop by your local branch to apply for a full-service card, or you can signup online for an online-only e-card. Go to the online registration form to apply for an e-card or go to the FBCL locations webpage to find a location near you, plus hours of operation. Keep in mind that all FBCL branch locations will be closed from Thursday, November 23 through Sunday November 26.

In order to stream or download a hoopla title, all you need is a valid library card (with less than $5.00 in fines) and password (PIN) or a valid e-Card, a valid email address, and access to the Internet. For more details about using hoopla, visit the FBCL webpage with frequently asked questions about utilizing this free resource.

Happy streaming, and enjoy your road trip!
