Boot Barn and Goodwill Planned for Crossing at Katy Fulshear
The retail lineup along FM 1093 keeps getting bigger, and two names many local shoppers will recognize appear to be next.
A new construction filing identifies a project called “Boot Barn and Goodwill Shell” at 26720 FM 1093 Road in Fulshear, inside the growing Crossing at Katy Fulshear development near FM 1463. The 30,311-square-foot project carries an estimated construction cost of $3 million, with work currently scheduled to begin Nov. 1, 2026, and finish April 30, 2027.
For families who already make this corner part of their regular shopping routine, the additions would bring two very different kinds of stores to the same center.
More Growth at Crossing at Katy Fulshear
Crossing at Katy Fulshear has gradually filled in around its Walmart Supercenter anchor, building out a mix of shopping, fitness, beauty, dining and everyday services near one of the busiest retail intersections serving the Katy and Fulshear area.
Lovett Commercial lists TJ Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, LA Fitness, PetSmart, Ulta Beauty, Dollar Tree and Five Below among the center’s tenants. Additional restaurant and service spaces are also part of the overall site plan, making the property less of a single-stop shopping center and more of a growing destination for errands, dining and day-to-day needs.
Boot Barn Would Bring More Western and Workwear Options
Boot Barn has been around since 1978 and has grown into one of the best-known Western and workwear retailers in the country. Its stores carry cowboy boots, work boots, jeans, hats, shirts, belts and other apparel for men, women and children, with brands such as Ariat, Wrangler, Carhartt, Stetson, Justin and Tony Lama commonly found on its shelves.
The company already has a strong Greater Houston presence, including locations in Katy, Cypress, Tomball, Spring, Sugar Land, Rosenberg, Pearland, Baytown and other surrounding communities. A Fulshear-area store would give shoppers farther south and west another option without having to head toward the Katy Freeway or other established retail corridors.
Goodwill Would Add a Different Kind of Shopping Stop
Goodwill, meanwhile, would bring its familiar mix of thrift shopping and donation services to the center. The organization traces its roots to 1902, while Goodwill Houston has served the region since 1945.
Its stores sell donated clothing, shoes, furniture, books, electronics, home goods and other secondhand items, while proceeds help support job training and employment programs. Goodwill Houston operates dozens of retail stores across the Greater Houston area, so the brand is already familiar to many local families looking to donate household items, shop secondhand or stretch a budget a little further.
Its role in the community goes beyond the retail floor, too. Goodwill Houston works with schools, businesses, churches, neighborhoods and other groups to host donation drives, and partners with ReSupply for fee-based home pickup of larger items. Those efforts support Goodwill’s broader mission of providing education, job training and career opportunities while also helping keep reusable goods out of local landfills.
What Happens Next
The filing covers construction of the shell building and related site work, so there are still pieces of the project that have not been publicly detailed. Individual store sizes, opening dates and grand opening plans have not yet been announced.
Still, the filing offers another glimpse at how quickly the FM 1093 and FM 1463 area continues to change. With Boot Barn and Goodwill now appearing in plans for Crossing at Katy Fulshear, local residents will have two more names to watch as construction gets underway.
