Hearthstone Garden Club Invites Local Kids to Help Feed the Birds at Bob Allen Park
Young Hearthstone residents will have a chance to get their hands involved in a simple nature-focused project this fall as the Hearthstone Garden Club hosts its 2026 End of Summer Youth Project at Bob Allen Park.
The event, themed “Come and Help the Hearthstone Garden Club Feed the Birds,” will be held Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11 a.m. to noon at Bob Allen Park.
A Hands-On Project for Hearthstone Kids
The youth activity will center on pinecone bird feeders, offering children a hands-on way to participate in feeding local birds while spending time outdoors with neighbors.
For families, the program offers more than another item on the weekend calendar. Activities built around birds, gardening and the outdoors can help children notice the wildlife already sharing their neighborhood and create an easy connection between everyday backyards and the natural world around them.
The youth project will also be held in conjunction with the Hearthstone Garden Club Fall Plant Sale, which begins earlier that morning at Bob Allen Park. That pairing gives parents and grandparents an opportunity to browse seasonal plants while making the outing part of a family morning in the neighborhood.
The bird-feeding project is scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon on October 17, making it an easy stop for Hearthstone families looking for a local activity that is educational, creative and close to home.
