HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress Earns Trauma Level III Designation, Enhancing Emergency Care in Cy-Fair
HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress has officially received its Trauma Level III designation, a major milestone that strengthens emergency care access for residents throughout the Cy-Fair and Northwest Houston areas.
Granted by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), this designation certifies the hospital's capability to provide immediate trauma services — including rapid assessments, surgical intervention, and advanced critical care. With around-the-clock emergency physician coverage and prompt access to general surgeons and anesthesiologists, the hospital is now fully equipped to handle moderate to severe trauma cases without the need for transfer to a higher-level facility.
“This achievement is just the beginning. HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress will continue to invest in trauma care resources, staff training and community partnerships to ensure that every patient receives the highest level of care when it matters most. Together, we are building a safer, healthier future for the Cy-Fair Community,” hospital officials shared.
What Trauma Level III Means for the Community
The Trauma Level III designation is more than a badge of honor—it brings measurable benefits to local residents. In emergencies, time is critical. The ability to access advanced trauma care locally can significantly impact survival and recovery outcomes.

From a policy perspective, the Trauma III designation not only meets state requirements outlined in the Texas Administrative Code but also signals a growing investment in regional healthcare resilience.
A Win for Cy-Fair Families
