CFISD Class of 2026 Celebrates Major Milestone as Nearly 10,000 Students Graduate

June 08 2026

For thousands of families across Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, the final week of May marked more than the end of a school year—it celebrated years of hard work, perseverance, and achievement as the Class of 2026 officially became CFISD graduates.

From May 27-30, the Berry Center welcomed students, families, educators, and community members for graduation ceremonies honoring 9,468 graduates from the district’s 12 traditional high schools. The milestone represents one of the largest graduating classes in Texas and reflects the continued growth of Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, one of the state's largest public school districts.

For many graduates, earning a high school diploma was only part of the accomplishment.

Record Number of Students Earn College Degrees Before Graduation

A total of 918 students graduated with both a high school diploma and an associate degree through the College Academy/Dual Credit program, a partnership between Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and Lone Star College-CyFair. The figure represents a significant increase from the 766 students who earned associate degrees in 2025.

The growing participation in dual-credit opportunities highlights a trend increasingly important to local families: helping students enter the workforce or continue their education with college credits already completed, potentially reducing both the time and cost required to earn a bachelor's degree.

For Cypress-area parents and students planning for higher education, the program continues to demonstrate how local partnerships can create expanded academic pathways while students remain enrolled in high school.

A Community-Wide Celebration at the Berry Center

Each commencement ceremony reflected traditions familiar to generations of CFISD families. Graduates were recognized in ceremonies that included remarks from campus principals and student speakers, presentations of colors by Air Force JROTC cadets, performances of the National Anthem by campus choirs, and the singing of each school's alma mater following the presentation of diplomas.

The celebrations extended far beyond the graduates themselves.

More than 62,000 guests attended ceremonies at the Berry Center during the four-day graduation period, highlighting the importance of commencement week for families throughout Cypress, Cy-Fair, Jersey Village, and surrounding communities.

In addition, approximately 93,700 viewers watched graduation ceremonies through the CFISD YouTube channel, allowing relatives and friends from across Texas and beyond to participate in the milestone moment.

Why This Matters for the Cy-Fair Community

Graduation season serves as a reminder of the scale and impact of public education in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Nearly 9,500 graduates entering colleges, trade programs, military service, and careers represent the next generation of leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and community members who will shape the future of the region.

The increase in associate degree recipients also reflects the growing emphasis on college readiness and workforce preparation throughout CFISD, providing students with additional opportunities before they even leave high school.

As caps were tossed and diplomas accepted, the Class of 2026 joined a long tradition of CFISD graduates whose achievements continue to contribute to the strength and success of the Cy-Fair community.
