Harris County Precinct 4 to Host Groundbreaking for Bear Creek Village Subdivision Drainage Improvements
Harris County Precinct 4, in partnership with the Harris County Flood Control District, Harris County Engineering Department, and Harris County Utility District No. 6, announces a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Bear Creek Village Subdivision Drainage Improvements Project.
During Hurricane Harvey, nearly 1,400 single-family residences, or 60% of the subdivision, flooded. The $20.2 million Recovery and Resiliency Division (RRD) project includes upsizing the storm sewer system, reconstructing driveways and street sections, and adjusting waterlines and sanitary sewer lines. This project will improve street drainage and lower the flooding risk in the area. Preliminary construction began in May.
Speakers will be Commissioner Lesley Briones, Harris County Precinct 4, Dr. Tina Petersen, Executive Director, Harris County Flood Control District, Dr. Milton Rahman, Executive Director, Harris County Engineering. *All speakers will be available for interviews following the remarks.
Parking is limited. Attendees should park on Pine Cliff Drive or Prairie Creek Drive. Constables will be on site to direct traffic during the event.
