Harris County Precinct 3 Begins 2023 with Road Repair Projects Throughout Crosby, Humble, Spring, and Cypress
Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey’s Office kicks off the first quarter of 2023 with Asphalt Reconstruction Packages across Crosby, Humble, Spring, and Cypress. In addition to drainage improvements and traffic projects already underway, construction of asphalt improvement projects has started for the repair of roadways to increase safety and mobility throughout these areas.
Asphalt Reconstruction Package 2022-1 in the Cypress and Spring areas: Construction started last month with the repaving of roads, new markings, and street signs along Tanner Road from Triway Lane to the Sam Houston Tollway, West Little York Road from North Eldridge Parkway to Brittmore Road, and Kuykendahl Road from north of Spring Cypress Road to north of 1960. Drivers can expect temporary one-lane closures throughout the project duration with no detours anticipated. Construction cost is approximately $7.3 million, and the contractor is Durwood Green. Construction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
Asphalt Reconstruction Package 2022-2 in the Humble and Crosby areas: Construction will begin in the second quarter of 2023 to reconstruct various roads in Humble and Crosby. Roadway portions include Aldine Westfield Road, First Street in the Crosby area, Miller Wilson Road, Hare Cook Road, Ramsey Road, East Stroker Road, and Krenek Road. Drivers may notice daily lane closures, roadway detours, and temporary one-way operations while crews are working. Construction cost is approximately $11.3 million, and the contractor is GMJ Paving.
River Terrace Subdivision Roadway Reconstruction in the Crosby area: Construction of the asphalt roadways is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2023. As part of the project, Cypress Street, Holley Street, Cherry Laurel Drive, Pine Street, Elm Street, Magnolia Street, Main Street, and portions of River Terrace Road will all undergo reconstruction. Drivers may notice daily lane closures, roadway detours, and temporary one-way operations while crews are working. The reconstruction cost is included within Asphalt Reconstruction package 2022-2, and the contractor is GMJ Paving.
Subdivision Asphalt Projects
The following construction projects include road repairs in several Cypress area subdivisions. Planning efforts for these initiatives began before redistricting. Additional subdivision road projects throughout Crosby, Humble, and Spring are to follow and are currently in the Design Phase.
Western Trails Subdivision Pavement and Sidewalk Repair Project: Construction has begun on several roads to provide a smooth driving surface and new street signs in the subdivision. Residents can expect temporary one-lane closures and temporary one-way traffic along subdivision roadways. Construction cost is approximately $1.4 million, and the contractor is Hayden Paving. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2023.
Waynewood Subdivision Asphalt Project: Construction has begun to repair the asphalt roadway and provide new markings and street signs along Pinedell Drive, Ladina Run Street, and Charolais Drive. Drivers may notice daily lane closures and temporary one-way operations while crews are working. Construction cost is approximately $824,910, and the contractor is Forde Construction Company. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2023.
Westgate Subdivision Asphalt and Drainage Improvement Project: Construction of the asphalt roadways and upgrades to the drainage is nearing completion. Vernon Road, Westover Road, Westgate Road, and Jasper Lane have all been reconstructed with improved drainage and culverts. Construction cost is approximately $2 million, and the contractor is Wadecon.
Tall Pines Subdivision Asphalt and Drainage Improvement Project: Construction of the asphalt roadways and upgrades to the drainage is nearing completion. Pine Drive, Willow Lane, Aspen Drive, Elm Drive, Dogwood Lane, Red Bud Lane, Mimosa Lane, and Cottonwood Lane have all been reconstructed with improved drainage and culverts. Construction cost is approximately $3.7 million, and the contractor is Wadecon.
Tower Oaks Plaza Subdivision Asphalt and Drainage Improvement Project: Construction will begin in the third quarter of 2023 to improve roadway surfaces and drainage along Oak Plaza Drive, King Circle, Carla Way, Chavile, Lynn Haven Street, and Oak Plaza Drive. Drivers will notice daily lane closures and temporary one-way operations while crews are working. Construction cost is approximately $12 million, and the contractor is to be determined as this project is currently out for bid.
