Harris County MUD 341 Construction Update: Lake B Repairs Progress in Lakes on Eldridge
Residents of Lakes on Eldridge are seeing continued progress in the multi-phase Lake B construction project, managed by Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 341 (MUD 341). In the latest update, dated May 5, 2025, MUD officials detailed current work and what’s ahead, as the district pushes toward completion of major repairs in the next 30 to 45 days, weather permitting. These efforts are part of a long-term plan to reinforce stormwater infrastructure, improve lake wall stability, and ensure the resilience of the neighborhood’s water management system.
Latest Construction Activities at Lake B
The construction team, led by Cooley Construction, has now completed all but one of the inlet replacements on Lake B, the large water feature located across from the community clubhouse. The remaining inlet work was delayed due to heavy rainfall in January and February, which impacted early construction momentum. Crews are currently focused on replacing two separate sections of lake wall damaged during the 2023 drought, addressing structural weaknesses caused by extreme dry conditions.
A key part of this final construction phase involves replacing a metal drainage pipe beneath the water feature on Waterside Way. Because the existing pipe runs under the water feature, the new concrete pipe will be relocated to an adjacent position, and the old pipe will be capped. This task requires careful coordination, including the temporary removal of the wrought iron fence next to the feature. During the project, the fence will be safely stored across the street. Afterward, the HOA will use this opportunity to refinish and reinstall the fence, addressing weather-related rust and wear.

What to Expect in the Coming Weeks
To accommodate construction, one lane of Waterside Way will be temporarily closed at times. MUD 341 asks drivers to be alert and cautious near work areas. Once all repairs are completed, the project will conclude with landscaping improvements—including new grass sod installation and the planting of nine trees to restore the visual appeal of the lakeside area. These upgrades not only enhance curb appeal but also contribute to long-term erosion control and support the district's stormwater management goals.
This construction update follows a previous milestone shared on April 23, when the south wall of Lake B was completed, and clean-up work began around the berms and sprinkler systems. As the MUD works to complete the final structural upgrades, residents are reminded of the broader importance of these efforts: Lakes in this community serve as both aesthetic and functional drainage systems, directing runoff to Addicks Reservoir via Turkey Creek.

MUD 341’s Commitment to Lakes on Eldridge Infrastructure
Serving 749 homes, an elementary school, and local businesses, MUD 341 is responsible for maintaining the neighborhood’s critical infrastructure, including detention basins, storm drains, water wells, and the lakes themselves. While the Lakes on Eldridge HOA oversees amenities and landscaping, it’s the MUD that ensures the integrity of water and drainage systems—especially important as the community grows and weather patterns become more unpredictable.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed by attending MUD 341’s monthly public meetings (held every second Monday).
