Lakes on Eldridge Construction Update: MUD 341 Continues Key Lake B Repairs and Prepares for Next Phase
This spring, Lakes on Eldridge residents are witnessing significant headway on the infrastructure improvements managed by Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 341 (MUD 341). As of April 17, 2025, the District’s engineering team, in collaboration with Cooley Construction, continues steady work on the Lake B wall reconstruction, part of a broader, phased strategy to reinforce the neighborhood’s flood control systems and aging utility infrastructure.
Latest Developments from the Construction Site
According to the latest update from the MUD 341 Board President, Cooley Construction poured the final section of the southern wall of Lake B just yesterday. Today, teams are focused on removing the concrete forms and installing grout, completing this critical structural component.
Meanwhile, the south berm, previously affected by construction activities, has undergone a successful cleanup. Landscaping and slope stabilization remain priorities as Cooley crews continue to hand-water newly laid sod, maintaining aesthetics alongside durability.
On the east side of Lake B, crews are placing a coffer dam, a temporary watertight barrier that allows construction below the waterline. The south wall’s coffer dam is scheduled to be removed next week, allowing work to progress along the eastern perimeter.
Additionally, MUD officials have coordinated an onsite meeting with irrigation technician Ivan to inspect the north sprinkler system and assess what upgrades are needed for the south. These irrigation updates will complement the lake work and support ongoing landscaping efforts.
Upcoming Construction: Iron Fence Removal and Reinstallation
Looking ahead, residents should be aware that a section of the iron fence near Lake B will soon be temporarily removed. This adjustment is necessary to allow equipment and crews access to the next project segment. The fence will be removed as one piece and securely chained to the corresponding fence across the street for the duration of the work. The MUD has committed to providing residents with advance notice before this phase begins.

Background: Why Lake Infrastructure Matters
Lake walls in Lakes on Eldridge—particularly those like the ones surrounding Lake B—serve a dual role: they’re both stormwater control structures and neighborhood-defining visual features. Over time, these concrete walls can degrade due to fluctuating water levels, invasive tree roots, and age.
The Lake B project is just one part of a multi-phase capital improvement plan that began in late 2024. The initiative was designed to reduce long-term risk to the community’s infrastructure, especially after 2023’s water-level drops, which exposed vulnerabilities in several lake systems. MUD 341’s decision to implement widespread repairs, pipe replacements, and water quality treatments reflects its commitment to both environmental stewardship and neighborhood resilience.
MUD 341’s Role in the Community
Harris County MUD 341 provides vital utility services to 749 homes, an elementary school, and commercial properties in Lakes on Eldridge. While the HOA manages aesthetics and amenities, the MUD owns and maintains critical assetslike storm drains, detention basins, water wells, and the lakes themselves.
With over 80 acres of water and green space, the lakes are not only picturesque—they’re part of a carefully engineered drainage system that ultimately routes stormwater to Addicks Reservoir via Turkey Creek. Maintaining these systems requires coordinated effort, especially during construction seasons.
Transparency and Community Engagement
The MUD Board, composed entirely of Lakes on Eldridge residents, continues to hold monthly public meetings and share project milestones with the community. Updates like these are part of a broader effort to ensure transparency and encourage residents to stay informed and engaged.
As spring construction continues, the District is urging homeowners to use caution around active work zones, watch for posted signage, and reach out with any questions or concerns.
