Harris County Enhances Storm Recovery Efforts with New Debris Drop-Off Sites and Free Public Dumpsters
Harris County is taking further steps to aid residents in recovering from the recent storms, with new residential debris drop-off sites now available to the public. Vegetative (leaves in clear bags, logs, plants, tree branches), as well as construction and demolition debris (building materials, carpet, drywall, furniture, lumber, mattresses, plumbing, fencing) can be dropped off at these locations free of charge for all Harris County residents.
These sites are open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Open sites include:
- A.D. Dyess Park, located at 16822 Kitzman Road, Cypress, TX 77429
- Crosby Sports Complex at 6800 Miller Wilson Road, Crosby, TX 77532
- Deputy Darren Goforth Park, located at 9118 Wheat Cross Drive, Cypress, TX 77095
- Lindsay/Lyons Park, at 2310 Atascocita Road, Humble, TX 77396
- IT May Park, located at 2100 Wolf Road, Huffman, TX 77336
- Meyer Park at 7700 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379
More locations will be added, according to officials. At each site, a monitor will be present to verify Harris County residency.
For residents of Precinct 4, additional facilities have been provided through free public dumpsters specifically for storm debris. These are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the following locations:
- 13900 Humble Rd., Tomball, TX
- 28511 Old Washington Rd., Hockley, TX 77447
- Service Center Rd., Tomball, TX 77377
More information on Precinct 4's public dumpsters can be found at here.
In Precinct 3, debris location reporting isn’t necessary, as debris cleanup will be done on a zone-by-zone basis with multiple passes to ensure no area is missed. Note that those residing in Precinct 4 are requested to report their debris for pick up. This can be initiated by calling 832-927-4444, emailing service@hcp4.net, or filling out an online form at cp4.harriscountytx.gov/Assistance.
