Harris County Constables Office, Pct. 5 Officer Honored

June 19 2023

By Tom Jackson, Former Texas SAR President

On May 16, 2023, Corporal Jacque Seaux with the Harris County Constables Office, Pct. 5 was honored with the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce Certificate of Honor at the monthly chamber luncheon held at the Berry Center. Chamber member and CFISD Trustee Tom Jackson made the presentation on behalf of the Chamber. Corporal Seaux received his award with his wife and Sergeant Eric Lewis in attendance. The table sponsor was Green River Oil Inc. with President Tom Jackson. Kevin Hoffman, Chief of Staff in the Office of the President for Prairie View A&M, assisted with the recognition.

In his capacity as Former Texas SAR President, Tom Jackson also presented Corporal Seaux with the National Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Life Saving Medal and Certificate, which is presented to those individuals who have acted to save a human life. The commendation, read by Sergeant Lewis, contained in part the following description:

On February 15th, 2023, Corporal Jacque Seaux was dispatched to a call involving a 1-year-old child who was not breathing. When he arrived, Corporal Seaux found the child in her crib with her mother next to her. A tracheotomy tube was in place with oxygen and monitors hooked up as well. The child was lying on her back, with her eyes open, however she was not breathing.
Corporal Seaux began CPR on the Child and eventually gained a physical response. He remained on scene, relaying critical information to responding EMS units until they had arrived to take over. When commended as a hero for saving the infant's life, Corporal Seaux responded, "I just did my job."

The Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce hosts a monthly luncheon where First Responders are highlighted for their contributions to the community. For several years the SAR Robert Rankin Chapter Public Service Committee, chaired by Tom Jackson with assistance from Allan Perkins, has presented the monthly honoree with one of the National SAR Public Service Medals and Certificates: Law Enforcement, Fire Safety, EMS, Life Saving or Heroism. In addition to the Life Saving Medal, Corporal Seaux, along with Sergeant Lewis, received a Certificate of Appreciation for Covid Heroic Service from the Rankin Chapter.
