Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen Opens in Tomball with Signature Flavors and a Texas-Size Welcome
Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen has officially opened the doors to its 17th location, bringing its signature Tex-Mex dishes, vibrant décor, and family-friendly service to the Tomball community. Located at 13035 TX-99, Tomball, TX 77377, the new 9,300-square-foot restaurant aims to serve up more than just fajitas and margaritas—it’s bringing a piece of Texas dining history to the growing Northwest Houston suburb.
Founded in Pearland in 1993 by Russell Ybarra, Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen has carved out a distinct space in the Tex-Mex landscape. Ybarra’s mission, “to serve the highest quality Mexican food at the lowest price possible,” was born from a leap of faith into a struggling restaurant location—and it’s a philosophy that still fuels the company’s growth today.

The Tomball location features seating for up to 260 guests and an eye-catching design that blends classic Old West Mexican influences with custom, hand-painted murals and a wraparound full-service bar anchoring the main dining area. Inside, guests will find a welcoming space designed to elevate everyday dining into a memorable experience.
Heather McKeon, Chief Operating Officer of Gringo’s Tex-Mex, emphasized that Tomball’s restaurant reflects an intentional step forward in the brand’s evolution. “We are beyond excited to officially open our doors to the Tomball community,” said McKeon. “For this location, we reflected on our core value, ‘Never Being Satisfied,’ and looked for areas that we can improve from the last opening and I think that we really set the bar high on this one.”

The menu at Gringo’s Tomball includes guest favorites like the Pollo Marisco, sizzling fajitas, the Burrito con Queso, and of course, their infamous Green Sauce. The bar menu features the beloved Cadillac Margarita, among other craft cocktails. For those who prefer Tex-Mex to-go, Gringo’s offers online ordering with options for curbside pickup or delivery, and guests can schedule their meals up to 48 hours in advance.
Gringo’s distinguishes itself not only with made-from-scratch food but also with unique menu additions like the Southwest Shrimp & Avocado Salad and Southwest Eggrolls—dishes that showcase the brand’s creative take on traditional Tex-Mex cuisine. As always, guests can enjoy free soft serve ice cream, a Gringo’s staple that adds a sweet, family-friendly finish to every meal.

For Tomball residents, the arrival of Gringo’s represents more than just a new dining option. It’s a chance to experience a Texas-grown restaurant with deep community roots and a track record of turning first-time diners into loyal regulars.
“We believe in building meaningful relationships,” McKeon added. “And we look forward to creating memorable experiences for everyone who walks through our doors."
