Grange Community in Katy by Johnson Development Launches Official Sales for New Development
Official sales have now begun for the Grange community, a new development by Johnson Development located in Katy, as announced by the company on social media earlier today. The community, a 1,130-acre parcel located at Morton Road and FM 2855, is expected to feature approximately 2,400 homes. As one of the most recent additions to Johnson Development's portfolio, the Grange project comes with a rustic charm, paying homage to the region's agricultural roots—aptly named 'Grange', a term defined as a farm or agricultural estate.
Highland Homes, as confirmed by Johnson Development, is the first of seven builders to kick off presales, paving the way for a roster of other award-winning home builders. This includes Chesmar Homes, David Weekley, Drees Custom Homes, Newmark Homes, Perry Homes, and Westin Homes, all lined up to bring this countryside community to life. Highland Homes is offering 60 homesites starting in the low $600s featuring 13 distinct floor plans, including a model home that will be available soon.
In the social media announcement, a spokesperson for Johnson Development said, "We are thrilled to begin sales in our newest community, Grange, with Highland Homes leading the way."

Along with the sales announcement, Johnson Development also unveiled plans to break ground soon on Henley Park, a community centerpiece in Grange. Set to feature multiple playgrounds, a covered pavilion, and an extensive open lawn on an acre, Henley Park plans to form a vibrant space for future residents of all ages to embrace and enjoy.
The park will feature three distinct playgrounds tailored for different age groups: a space for toddlers aged 2 to 5, a more adventurous area for children aged 5 to 10, and a separate playground for older kids aged 10 to 12. Parents can relax in a shaded pavilion with a perfect view of the playgrounds, ideal for snacks and breaks. Beyond the playgrounds, a large open lawn will invite games and community events, while trails will connect the park to homes throughout Grange. Slated for completion by spring or summer 2025, Henley Park embodies the spirit of outdoor living and community connection, with plans for more parks and amenities as the development grows.
Grange is situated in an advantageous location, north of Interstate 10 and the Grand Parkway, pairing convenience with a rural charm. The community is within the reputed Katy Independent School District, offering high-quality education, an important aspect for many potential homeowners.
