Goodcents’ Growing Presence in the Katy Area
The first Katy-area Goodcents, located at 2206 Katy Flewellen Rd E, opened in December 2024, marking the franchise’s debut in Texas. The location was met with enthusiasm from local residents, thanks to its signature soft-baked bread, fresh-cut meats, and hearty pasta dishes. The success of the Katy store has fueled plans for additional locations, including this upcoming Fulshear expansion and a potential third store in the Katy area in the future.
Jax Johnson, co-owner and operator of the franchise locations, expressed excitement about bringing Goodcents to Fulshear. “We knew this area was ready for more dining options, and Goodcents offers something special—fresh, quality sandwiches and pastas in a welcoming atmosphere,” she said. Johnson and her husband, both longtime fans of the brand, are committed to maintaining Goodcents’ reputation for great food and community engagement.
What Makes Goodcents Stand Out
Founded in 1989 in Lenexa, Kansas, Goodcents has built a loyal customer base with its commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu includes a variety of signature sandwiches, classic pasta dishes like spaghetti and meatballs, and indulgent fresh-baked cookies. One of the biggest differentiators is the restaurant’s soft bread, which has become a defining feature of Goodcents' menu.
In addition to dine-in service, the Fulshear location will offer catering options, including sub boxes, pasta trays, and boxed lunches—ideal for local businesses, schools, and community gatherings.
A Community-Focused Business
Beyond serving food, Goodcents is known for its strong community values and family-friendly environment. At the Katy location, the Johnson family has prioritized community involvement, hosting events that support local causes and initiatives. Their expansion into Fulshear will bring the same commitment to fostering relationships with area residents and businesses.
“We want Goodcents to be more than just a place to eat—we want it to be a gathering space where people feel at home,” Johnson added.
