Girls' Basketball Playoffs Continue for Six CFISD Teams in Area Round

The Cypress Creek, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Ridge, Cypress Springs, Jersey Village and Langham Creek high school girls’ basketball teams advanced past the bi-district round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while Cypress Lakes High School concluded its seasons.  

Cypress Creek High School defeated Houston Lamar, 51-34. The Cougars advance to face Fort Bend Hightower at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Houston ISD’s Delmar Fieldhouse (2020 Mangum Road). 

Cypress Ranch High School beat Tomball, 66-40. The Mustangs advance to face Conroe Grand Oaks at 6 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Waller High School (31213 Waller Spring Creek Road). 

Cypress Springs High School sophomore Kameryn Howard and the Panthers basketball team defeated Klein Oak and advanced to face Conroe Grand Oaks at 7 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Aldine ISD’s Campbell Center

Cypress Ridge High School defeated Houston Westside, 44-39, for the first postseason victory in program history. The Rams advance to face Katy Tompkins at 6 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Katy Mayde Creek High School (19202 Groschke Road). 

Cypress Springs High School beat Klein Oak, 54-35. The Panthers advance to face Conroe Oak Ridge at 7 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Aldine ISD’s Campbell Center (1865 Aldine Bender Road). 

Jersey Village High School defeated Houston Bellaire, 49-26. The Falcons advance to face Katy at 7 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Bridgeland High School (10707 Mason Road). 

Cypress Ridge High School senior Julissa Rodriguez and the Rams beat defeated Houston Westside for the program’s first-ever playoff win. They advance to face Katy Tompkins at 6 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Katy Mayde Creek High School. 

Langham Creek High School beat Klein Collins, 51-38. The Lobos advance to face Spring at 6 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road). 

Tickets are $5 each for adults and students. Tickets for Jersey Village will be sold online and at the door. Tickets for Langham Creek will be sold online. 

Tickets for Cypress Creek will be sold online through Houston ISD. Tickets for Cypress Ranch will be sold online through Waller ISD. Tickets for Cypress Ridge will be sold online through Katy ISD. Tickets for Cypress Springs will be sold online through Aldine ISD. 

Cypress Lakes High School was defeated by Tomball Memorial, 48-45. The Spartans were District 16-6A’s third seed and finished the season as bi-district finalists.
