Fulshear Senior Center Adds Bingo-cize to Weekly Schedule, Welcoming Seniors to Stay Active and Connected
The Fulshear Senior Center, a longtime favorite among local residents aged 60 and older, is officially open at the Irene Stern Community Center—and one of its most popular programs is making its debut next week. Starting Monday, July 28, 2025, seniors can enjoy Bingo-cize, an innovative activity that blends classic bingo with gentle physical exercises designed to promote mobility, balance, and overall wellness.
Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the center offers far more than just bingo. Thanks to the partnership with Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels, visitors can enjoy nutritious hot meals daily, along with arts and crafts, field trips, fitness activities, computer access, health screenings, and even transportation assistance when needed.
“This center is about more than just staying busy—it’s about staying connected and healthy,” said Shonda Thomas, Senior Center Manager for Fort Bend Seniors, in a previous statement about the reopening. “We’re excited to see programs like Bingo-cize bring joy while supporting wellness.”

A Resource Hub for All Seniors in Fulshear
The Fulshear Senior Center reopened last month after a collaborative effort between the City of Fulshear and Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels, following a yearlong closure. The facility, located at 6920 Fulshear Katy Rd, Fulshear, TX 77441 just west of Cross Creek Ranch, has already become a trusted gathering space where seniors can socialize, enjoy a hot meal, and participate in engaging, health-focused activities.
For residents who may need assistance, the center provides door-to-door transportation options, ensuring that no one is left out due to mobility or transportation challenges. “It’s a safe, welcoming environment where seniors can not only share a meal but also share their day with friends,” Thomas emphasized previously.
Why Programs Like This Matter
Senior centers like this one are proven to support physical, emotional, and social health. According to the National Council on Aging (NCOA), nearly 60% of senior center participants say these programs have improved their health and wellness, while many also report feeling less isolated and more engaged in their communities. These centers are open to all seniors, regardless of income or background, and offer safe spaces where older adults can build friendships, access community resources, and stay active—a critical factor as aging populations grow nationwide.

With Fort Bend County’s senior population growing and resources for older adults in high demand, programs like Bingo-cize play a valuable role in supporting both physical and mental wellness. The U.S. Census Bureau projects seniors will outnumber children by 2034, making community centers like this one increasingly essential.
