Four LSC-CyFair Artists Featured in 'Fresh Perspectives' Exhibit at Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Art
Four talented student artists from Lone Star College-CyFair are gaining well-deserved recognition for their creative work now on display at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts in Spring, Texas. Their artwork is featured in Fresh Perspectives: Visionaries of the Next Generation, an annual youth art exhibition that highlights outstanding young artists from across the region. The show runs through May 10, and includes a special collection curated from Lone Star College campuses titled Lone Star College Student Highlights.
LSC-CyFair students Desiree Calderon de Fawaz, Solomon Rowry, Sarah Silver, and Sydney Tran are among those selected to exhibit their work in a museum setting—a milestone moment for student artists exploring their creative potential. The exhibition includes a variety of media ranging from painting and sculpture to ceramics and printmaking, reflecting the diversity of both technique and inspiration among today’s student artists.
“We are excited to have our students selected for this exhibition in collaboration with the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts,” said LSC-CyFair Art Professor Renee Justiss. “Our studio faculty carefully selected several prominent students from past and current fall and spring semester courses. We are proud of their creativity and hard work and to see these students share their work with a broader public audience in a formal museum setting.”

The community is invited to meet the featured college artists at a reception hosted by the Pearl on Thursday, April 17, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. For those unable to attend, another chance to connect with LSC-CyFair’s artists will be offered during a special reception and wearable art fashion show at the Bosque Gallery on campus, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24. That event kicks off the LSC-CyFair Student Art Showcase, running from April 22 to May 2.
The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts—known locally as “The Pearl”—has served the Northwest Houston community since 2008 as a vibrant center for arts and culture. Located at 6815 Cypresswood Drive near the intersection of Stuebner-Airline, The Pearl operates as a non-collecting museum, meaning it does not house a permanent collection but instead curates exhibitions by borrowing works from both public and private collections. The museum emphasizes accessibility, creativity, and education, and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In keeping with its mission to provide direct, first-hand access to culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant works, The Pearl pairs exhibitions like Fresh Perspectives with robust educational and public programming. Housed in a renovated former county library and sustained entirely through community support, The Pearl has received contributions from more than 3,000 donors since its inception.

“This exhibit is more than just a showcase of student art—it’s a testament to the power of local institutions to nurture emerging talent and bring communities together through creativity,” said Justiss.
