Foundry Church to Break Ground on New Children’s Ministry Building at Fry Road Campus in Cypress
Families in Cypress will soon see visible progress on a project first announced last year, as Foundry Church in Cypress gears up for the groundbreaking of its new Children’s Ministry Building at 10203 Fry Rd, Cypress, TX 77433 on February 22, 2026.
For many local parents, the milestone represents more than construction equipment and architectural plans. It signals an investment in children’s programming, family support, and faith-based community space in one of the fastest-growing areas of northwest Harris County.
As Cypress continues to add new neighborhoods and young families, community institutions are adapting alongside that growth. Foundry Church’s new Kids Ministry building is designed to meet that demand with age-appropriate classrooms, interactive learning environments, and dedicated gathering areas tailored specifically for elementary-aged children.
A Milestone for Growing Cypress Families
The Groundbreaking Ceremony will take place at noon on Saturday, February 22, 2026, at the Fry Road campus. Church leaders say the moment marks the beginning of a project years in planning.
“Children are not just the future of the church—they are the church,” said Ray Huges, Foundry’s Lead Pastor. “This new building allows us to create spaces where children can know God personally, learn how to follow Jesus daily, and be inspired to share His love with others.”
The 12,720-square-foot facility is part of a privately funded $5.2 million expansion first detailed in November 2025. According to permit filings, construction is expected to begin in March 2026, with completion anticipated by early January 2027.

For families who already attend programs at the Fry Road campus, the new building addresses a practical need. While the current facility effectively serves preschoolers, toddlers, and infants, church leaders previously noted that elementary-aged children have outgrown existing space.
“Our kids need safe and secure spaces to connect with God, each other, and adults who help them grow in their faith,” the church shared during its initial campaign rollout. “While our current building is well-equipped for our preschoolers, toddlers, and babies, it does not serve the growing needs of our elementary kids”.
Part of the “NEXT” Capital Campaign
The Fry Road Children’s Ministry Building represents Phase 2 of Foundry Church’s long-term master plan and is a key component of its broader “NEXT” capital campaign.
The initiative focuses on investing in future generations through both physical expansion and enhanced programming. In addition to the Cypress project, NEXT includes renovations at the Jones Road campus and a gym expansion intended to serve as a community engagement hub.
Once completed, the new children’s building will also allow existing spaces at the Fry Road campus to be repurposed for student and adult ministries, increasing opportunities for connection across age groups.
For Cypress residents, especially those in neighborhoods near Fry Road, Bridgeland, Towne Lake, and surrounding communities, the expansion reflects how local organizations are adjusting to rapid population growth. Harris County continues to rank among the fastest-growing regions in Texas, and community infrastructure—from schools to churches—has had to scale accordingly.
From Movie Theater Launch to Permanent Campus
Foundry Church’s Cypress story began in 2008, when the congregation launched services in a local movie theater. Since then, the church has established a permanent campus, expanded outreach efforts, and partnered with organizations such as Cy-Hope to support children and families.

Leaders say the new Kids Ministry building is designed not only for Sunday programming but also as a hub for family connection, volunteer engagement, and community support initiatives.
While rooted in faith-based mission, the project also reflects broader values that resonate with many Cypress families: safety, mentorship, belonging, and age-specific education environments.
What Happens Next
With the groundbreaking now underway, construction is expected to begin in March 2026. Residents driving along Fry Road may begin seeing site preparation and early building activity in the coming weeks.
The anticipated completion date of January 2027 positions the building to open early next year, aligning with continued growth in the Cypress area.
For families evaluating children’s programs, religious education options in Cypress, or community spaces for youth engagement, the expansion signals increased capacity and long-term commitment from one of the area’s established faith communities.
As Cypress evolves, projects like this illustrate how local institutions are investing not just in buildings—but in the next generation of residents who will shape the community’s future.
