Fort Bend Junior Service League Distributes $317K to Local Nonprofits Following 2025 Sugar Plum Market Success
The holiday spirit in Fort Bend County was more than just festive this past season—it was philanthropic. Thanks to the efforts of the Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) and an outpouring of support from residents and businesses, the 2025 Sugar Plum Market raised a record-breaking $317,000 for local charities.
Held in November and presented by title sponsor Memorial Hermann Sugar Land, the Sugar Plum Market transformed holiday shopping into a community-building powerhouse. Shoppers browsed dozens of curated vendors, sipping cocoa and checking off gift lists—all while making a difference.
On December 16, representatives from 31 nonprofit organizations gathered to receive grant checks, marking a moment of celebration, gratitude, and meaningful impact. The event not only honored the funds raised but reflected the collaborative heart of Fort Bend County.
Beneficiaries Making a Difference Across Fort Bend
The grant recipients reflect a wide range of missions and services, from children’s advocacy and adoption to literacy, housing, therapeutic programs, and mental health support. Among those awarded were organizations such as:
- Child Advocates of Fort Bend
- Arc of Fort Bend County
- Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels
- Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center
- Parks Youth Ranch
- Katy ARTSreach
- Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star
A portion of the proceeds was also dedicated to FBJSL’s Community Assistance Fund, which allows the League to respond quickly to urgent or smaller nonprofit requests throughout the year—extending the Market’s reach long past the holidays.
