Fort Bend County District Clerk Announces Re-Opening of Sienna Annex Passport Facility

June 11 2024

Beverley McGrew Walker, Fort Bend County District Clerk, has announced the re-opening of the District Clerk's Passport Acceptance Facility located in the Sienna Annex at 5855 Sienna Springs Way, Suite 146, Missouri City, Texas, according to a release issued by officials. Closed earlier this year for remodeling, the facility will now be able to accommodate more applicants since it reopened its doors on June 3, 2024. The facility is open for passport appointments and for walk-ins between appointments, as time permits.

The re-opening of this facility comes as a significant move considering the high demand for passports in Fort Bend County. "Fort Bend County Citizens always have a need for a passport because approximately 30% of all Fort Bend County Citizens are foreign-born and have familial or business ties in another country," stated Walker. " Fort Bend County Citizens have the monetary means to travel, as the average yearly income in Fort Bend County is over $105,000.00."

In the first five months of 2024, the Fort Bend County District Clerk's Passport Acceptance Facility recorded 11,499 passport applications, took 5,823 passport photos, and contributed $480,958.00 to the Fort Bend County general fund.

Senior Chief Deputy Michelle Jochen highlighted that "Appointments are preferred over walk-ins because the wait time will be less for appointments. However, we do take walk-ins as a courtesy to Fort Bend County Citizens." With the re-opening of the Sienna Annex facility, Fort Bend County citizens are now more equipped to either apply for a new passport or renew an existing one.

The Fort Bend County District Clerk's office encourages applicants to check the Department of State information regarding fees and documents required to obtain a passport on its website. Further adding to customer convenience, money orders are readily available on-site for applicants who do not have personal checks.
