Five CFISD Softball Teams Earn Bi-District Postseason Victories

Five CFISD softball teams advanced past the bi-district round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round this week.

Langham Creek High School senior Kayla Evans and the Lobos defeated Klein Oak in a best-of-three series to become bi-district champions. Langham Creek advances to play New Caney in a best-of-three series beginning at 5 p.m. on May 5 at Cypress Ranch High School.
 
Langham Creek High School defeated Klein Oak in a best-of-three series by the scores of 13-1 and 8-0. The Lobos advance to face New Caney in a best-of-three series:
  • Game 1 – 5 p.m. on May 5 at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road);
  • Game 2 – 2 p.m. on May 6 at New Caney ISD’s West Fork High School (180 Sorters McClellan Road); and
  • Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.
Bridgeland High School defeated Klein, 4-1, on April 27 at Cypress Ranch High School. The Bears advance to meet Conroe in a best-of-three series at Tomball High School (30330 Quinn Road):
  • Game 1 – 6:30 p.m. on May 5;
  • Game 2 – 1 p.m. on May 6; and
  • Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.
Cypress Woods High School defeated Waller, 1-0, on April 27 at Cypress Woods High School. The Wildcats advance to face Spring in a best-of-three series:
  • Game 1 – 6:30 p.m. on May 5 at Spring High School (19428 Interstate Highway 45);
  • Game 2 – 3 p.m. on May 6 at Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods-Spillane Blvd.); and
  • Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.
Cypress Woods High School senior Haley Crawford and the Wildcats defeated Waller to become bi-district champions. Cypress Woods advances to meet Spring in a best-of-three series beginning at 6:30 p.m. on May 5 at Spring High School.
 

Cy-Fair High School defeated Houston Chavez, 4-1, on April 27 at Cypress Ridge High School. The Bobcats advance to face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 6 p.m. on May 5 at Cypress Ridge High School (7900 N. Eldridge Parkway).

Cy-Fair High School senior Avery Coleman and the Bobcats defeated Houston Chavez to become bi-district champions. Cy-Fair advances to play Fort Bend Ridge Point at 6 p.m. on May 5 at Cypress Ridge High School.
 
Jersey Village High School defeated Houston Lamar in a best-of-three series by the scores of 3-6, 9-1 and 10-7. The Falcons advance to meet George Ranch in a best-of-three series:
  • Game 1 – 5 p.m. on May 5 at George Ranch High School (8181 FM 762);
  • Game 2 – 7 p.m. on May 5 at George Ranch High School; and
  • Game 3, if necessary – 10 a.m. on May 6 at Jersey Village High School (7600 Solomon St.).
Jersey Village High School sophomore Jordyn Battise and the Falcons defeated Houston Lamar in a best-of-three series to become bi-district champions. Jersey Village advances to play George Ranch in a best-of-three series beginning at 5 p.m. on May 5 at George Ranch High School.
 

Cypress Ranch High School ended its season with a best-of-three series loss to Klein Collins by the scores of 1-3 and 0-6. The Mustangs were District 16-6A’s fourth seed and bi-district finalists.

Tickets for Langham Creek, Bridgeland, Cypress Woods, Cy-Fair and Jersey Village are $5 a piece (adults and students) and will be sold online.
