Fall into Art: Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts Unveils New Exhibitions, Luncheon & Family Classes in Northwest Houston
The changing leaves aren't the only thing bringing color to Northwest Houston this fall. At the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, art lovers, families, educators, and curious minds of all ages are invited to experience a vibrant season of creativity, culture, and connection—with two major exhibitions, artist workshops, a community luncheon, and hands-on art education programs for even the youngest visitors.
Nestled among the pine trees of Cypresswood Drive in Spring, the Pearl Fincher Museum has long served as a cultural gem for Harris County residents. As the only fine arts museum in the area outside of downtown Houston, the Pearl blends accessible education with powerful storytelling through art. And this fall, it’s offering more ways than ever to get involved.

A Curated Life: A Personal Story Told Through Art
Opening September 20 in the Main Gallery, A Curated Life: Selections from the Collection of Andy Moran is more than just a look at fine art—it’s a celebration of love, legacy, and the transformative power of creative expression.
Andy Moran and his late wife, Mary Lou Chester, began collecting art in the 1970s after meeting at Texas Southern University, where she studied art and he studied business. Their collection—which will be on display at the Pearl through January 10, 2026—features 47 powerful works by African-American artists, many with deep roots in Houston and the TSU art scene, including Dr. John Biggers, Kermit Oliver, and Linda Hinojos.

This exhibition brings viewers into a deeply personal world, offering glimpses of the couple’s lifelong commitment to the arts. The show is free and open to the public, with an exclusive Patron Member reception scheduled for September 19. Memberships can be obtained at pearlmfa.org or by calling 281-376-6322.
The Maker’s Muse: Photography That Captures the Soul

October 10 at 6:00 PM: Artist Talk featuring Ella Carlson, John Herrell, and Teri Whittaker
-
October 11 at 1:00 PM: Photography workshop on natural lighting and posing with Teri Whittaker

Fall Luncheon: A Tribute to Gratitude
One of the most anticipated social events of the season, the Expressions of Gratitude Fall Luncheon takes place Thursday, October 9 at Shirley Acres. This year’s event honors Dr. Jenny McGown, Superintendent of Klein ISD, with Dr. Nancy Radcliffe as guest speaker.
Luncheon tickets are $75 if purchased by September 30 and $100 thereafter. Tables and sponsorships are available, and the popular silent auction—featuring home décor, jewelry, and gift cards—helps raise vital funds for the museum’s free programming.
For reservations or donations, visit pearlmfa.org or call 281-376-6322.
Art for the Littlest Learners: Little Art Historians Returns
Back by popular demand, Little Art Historians is the Pearl’s interactive art history program for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. These engaging Wednesday morning sessions in October introduce young children to famous artists and guide them in creating their own masterpieces in a similar style—while building preschool readiness skills like listening, fine motor control, and color theory.
