Explore the Exciting World of Law Enforcement: CFISD Junior Police Academy Registration Now Open

March 27 2024

Is your child interested in the world of law enforcement? Registration is now open for the much-anticipated Junior Police Academy, where kids will enjoy an exciting, full-day learning experience that provides real insight into this fascinating - and vital - career.

Established in 2019, the Junior Police Academy is designed to foster healthy interaction between the police, students, and their parents. Targeted at 9 to 13-year-old students in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, the program aims to introduce the young minds to law enforcement and the values upheld by the police force.

As cadets, your young ones will be immersed in interactive educational presentations from the "Stop the Bleed" program to crucial mapping skills. They will also receive practical, hands-on instruction in areas such as drill team, fingerprinting, crime scene investigation, K9 demonstrations, and defensive tactics.

The Junior Police Academy goes beyond the classroom, incorporating physical fitness activities and an obstacle course. They'll even get to interact with the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Police Department K-9 units, gaining essential drug awareness knowledge in the process while learning valuable leadership, team-building, integrity, equality, respect, and problem-solving skills.

The academy will be conducted at Campbell Middle School, located at 11415 Bobcat Rd, Houston, TX 77064, from June 24-28, 2024, and at Labay Middle School, located at 15435 Willow River Dr, Houston, TX 77095, from July 8-12, 2024. So, mark your calendars and prepare for an unforgettable, enriching summer experience.
