Eleven CFISD Water Polo Teams Advance to Area Round

Eleven CFISD water polo teams advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while the girls’ teams from Cypress Springs and Langham Creek high schools and the boys’ teams from Bridgeland, Cypress Springs and Langham Creek high schools concluded their seasons and finished as bi-district finalists.

On the girls’ side, Cypress Ranch High School defeated Spring Woods, 17-1. The Mustangs advance to face Pearland Dawson at 5 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the Pearland ISD Natatorium (4141 Bailey Road) in Pearland.

Jersey Village High School defeated Fort Bend Kempner, 23-4. The Falcons advance to face Richmond Foster at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 15 at the CFISD Natatorium (12550 Windfern Road).

Cypress Woods High School defeated Fort Bend Austin, 22-3. The Wildcats advance to face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 8 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium.

Cy-Fair High School defeated Fort Bend Travis, 23-6. The Bobcats advance to face Fort Bend Elkins at 5 p.m. on Oct 14 at the CFISD Natatorium.

Bridgeland High School received a bi-district bye and will face Alvin at 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the CFISD Natatorium.

Cypress Creek High School received a bi-district bye and will face Fort Bend Dulles at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium.

On the boys’ side, Cypress Ranch defeated Spring Woods, 18-2. The Mustangs advanced to face Alvin at 6 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the Pearland ISD Natatorium.

Jersey Village defeated Fort Bend Kempner, 23-5. The Falcons advance to face Richmond Foster at noon on Oct. 15 at the CFISD Natatorium.

Cypress Woods defeated Fort Bend Travis, 27-10. The Wildcats advance to face Fort Bend Elkins at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium.

Cypress Ridge High School defeated Fort Bend Austin, 14-12. The Rams advance to face Fort Bend Dulles at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 15 at the CFISD Natatorium.

Cypress Creek received a bi-district bye and will face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 5 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium.

Tickets are $5 each for adults and students. Links for games to be played at the CFISD Natatorium can be found on the CFISD Athletics website’s Tickets Page utilizing the Aquatics button. Separate ticket links are available for playoff games Thursday, Oct. 13; Friday, Oct. 14and Saturday, Oct. 15.

The Langham Creek girls were defeated by Stratford, 7-5. The Lobos were District 16-6A’s third seed and finished as bi-district finalists.

The Cypress Springs girls were defeated by Spring Branch ISD’s Memorial, 13-11. The Panthers were District 16-6A’s fourth seed and finished as bi-district finalists.

The Bridgeland boys were defeated by Stratford, 17-7. The Bears were District 16-6A’s second seed and finished as bi-district finalists   

The Cypress Springs boys were defeated by Spring Branch ISD’s Memorial, 19-7. The Panthers were District 16-6A’s third seed and finished as bi-district finalists.

The Langham Creek boys were defeated by Strake Jesuit, 17-3. The Lobos were District 16-6A’s fourth seed and finished as bi-district finalists.
