Katy is plugging into the future of transportation with the upcoming arrival of a new Electrify America EV charging facility at Westside Pointe. Slated to break ground in mid-March 2026, and open by the end of the year, this state-of-the-art electric vehicle charging station will be located at 1019 Westside Parkway near University Park and Katy Asian Town. With an estimated investment of $1 million, the project will add 8,000 square feet of charging infrastructure that supports Harris County’s growing number of EV drivers.
This Katy EV charging station is part of Electrify America’s coast-to-coast network, which is already the largest open Hyper-Fast DC fast charging network in the U.S., with a presence in 47 states and the District of Columbia. The new Westside Pointe location marks another key investment in community-centric, environmentally responsible transportation options in the greater Houston area.
What to Expect at the Westside Parkway Location
The planned Westside Pointe charging site will include a newly constructed parking lot featuring Hyper-Fast charging dispensers, advanced power unit equipment, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) that help reduce strain on the local electric grid during peak usage hours. This smart energy infrastructure allows for reliable 350 kW charging—one of the fastest available—while helping maintain affordable energy prices for customers.
Katy residents will be able to conveniently charge their EVs in minutes rather than hours, helping drivers spend less time waiting and more time getting where they need to go. Electrify America’s mobile app will allow users to locate the station, manage payments, track sessions in real time, and enjoy a seamless “Plug&Charge” experience.
