For Bridgeland and Cypress residents who have been watching new restaurants, shops and services steadily fill Village Green at Bridgeland Central, another anticipated name has officially joined the neighborhood.

Drybar, the nationally recognized salon built entirely around professional blowouts, celebrated its new Bridgeland location Thursday, Aug. 20, with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration before opening to the public Friday, Aug. 21.

Located at 20115 Bridgeland Creek Parkway in Cypress, the new Drybar Bridgeland shop gives area residents a closer option for professional wash, blow-dry and styling services without making the longer drive to established Drybar locations elsewhere in the Houston area.

For a community that continues to add homes, schools, restaurants, fitness studios and everyday services, the opening is also another sign of Village Green's evolution from a developing commercial center into a place where residents can increasingly take care of daily errands — and a few special-occasion extras — close to home.

Drybar Bridgeland Celebrates Its Cypress Debut

The Aug. 20 celebration began with a 4:30 p.m. ribbon-cutting featuring Bridgeland developer Howard Hughes, followed by festivities from 5 to 7 p.m.

Guests were invited inside for an early look at the new salon, complimentary dry styles, light bites, sweet treats and champagne. The event also included prizes and giveaways from Drybar and neighboring Bridgeland businesses, including Evolve, Her and Reese, Pvolve Studio and JETSET Studio.

Two six-month founding memberships were among the prizes offered during the evening.

The event also marked the final opportunity for customers to secure Drybar Bridgeland's founding Barfly membership rate before the shop's official Aug. 21 opening.

While the party celebrated one new storefront, its neighborhood feel reflected a larger trend taking shape at Village Green: more and more businesses are calling Bridgeland home while creating a more connected retail district within Bridgeland itself.

What Is Drybar?

Founded in 2010 by hairstylist Alli Webb, Drybar became known for a deliberately narrow concept: no cuts and no color — only blowouts.

Customers select from a menu of signature hairstyles with cocktail-inspired names, then receive a wash, blow-dry and finished style. The concept was designed around making salon-quality styling convenient for everything from weddings and professional events to date nights, family photos and everyday occasions.

Drybar has since grown into a nationally known beauty brand, with salons around the country and a line of haircare products and styling tools sold through major beauty retailers.

The new Cypress salon continues that model, offering professional blowouts and styling in a setting designed specifically around the brand's specialized service.

A Project Months in the Making

My Neighborhood News first reported plans for the Drybar Bridgeland at Cypress location in February, when construction filings showed a roughly $285,000 renovation of approximately 1,180 square feet at Village Green.

At the time, the tenant buildout was expected to begin in March and transform the retail suite into a finished Drybar salon.

Bridgeland later included Drybar among the retailers planned for Village Green at Bridgeland Central, describing the business as a specialized salon focused on blowouts.

With the doors now open, that construction project has become another everyday amenity for residents in Bridgeland, Cypress and surrounding northwest Harris County communities.

Village Green Continues to Build Out

Drybar's arrival comes as Village Green at Bridgeland Central continues a significant period of retail and commercial growth.

Village Green is part of Bridgeland Central, a planned 925-acre mixed-use district envisioned with offices, retail, residences, restaurants, hospitality, entertainment and public gathering spaces. Howard Hughes describes the district as a walkable destination intended to eventually include about 2 million square feet of retail and 3,800 residences.

The broader Bridgeland community is planned for more than 25,000 homes and approximately 70,000 residents, creating an increasingly large customer base for restaurants, personal services, fitness concepts and neighborhood businesses opening in and around Bridgeland Central.

Village Green's growth accelerated with the opening of the 128,000-square-foot H-E-B Bridgeland in October 2024. Since then, the surrounding development has continued adding dining, retail, wellness and service-oriented businesses.

That mix is intentional. Village Green was planned as the commercial entry point for Bridgeland Central, bringing restaurants, shops and neighborhood services into a more pedestrian-friendly district instead of requiring residents to leave the community for many everyday needs.

For Cypress-area families, that means a growing list of options for coffee, meals, fitness, shopping, healthcare and now professional hair styling within the same developing destination.

Why Drybar's Bridgeland Opening Matters Locally

A blowout salon may seem like a small addition compared with a grocery store or major development project, but service businesses often tell an important story about how a community is growing.

As residential populations increase, retailers begin responding not only to essential needs but also to the routines that make a neighborhood feel more complete — fitness classes before work, coffee with friends, dinner close to home, a quick appointment before family photos or professional styling before a wedding.

Drybar's opening fits into that next stage of Bridgeland's growth.

For residents who already use the brand, the most immediate benefit is convenience. For the larger community, it represents another recognizable national retailer choosing to establish a presence in Cypress as Bridgeland Central continues filling in around it.

And with additional businesses still joining Village Green, Drybar's grand opening is unlikely to be the last ribbon-cutting Bridgeland residents see this year.
