The store was once home to Himalaya Grocers, which sold Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Nepali groceries to the community since 2004, but closed in 2024.
Not long after closing their doors, a sign appeared to announce that Saigon Asian Market was coming to that location. Local residents were eager to see what would be coming to the neighborhood, and after a several-month wait, Saigon Asian Market finally opened their doors in October 2024, celebrating with a grand opening featuring lion dancing.
