Dirk Heath Named Principal of Cy-Fair High School, Returning to Lead the Campus He Once Called Home
A familiar face is returning to lead one of Cypress-Fairbanks ISD’s most storied campuses. CFISD announced last week that Dirk Heath, a proud 1985 graduate of Cy-Fair High School and current principal of Aragon Middle School, has been named the new principal of Cy-Fair High School.
Heath replaces Ana Martin, who was recently promoted to CFISD assistant superintendent for secondary school leadership.
With 31 years of experience in education, Heath’s career reflects a deep commitment to student achievement and campus leadership. He began his journey in Aldine ISD as a technology and business teacher and coach before transitioning into administration. His leadership tenure in CFISD spans nearly two decades, beginning with his role as assistant principal at Bleyl Middle School in 2007.

From there, Heath served as assistant principal at Cypress Falls High School and later as summer school principal at both Cypress Falls and Bleyl. In 2012, he was promoted to associate principal at Cypress Woods High School, where he served for 11 years before moving into his most recent role at Aragon Middle School in 2023.
Now, he returns to the halls of Cy-Fair High School—not just as a leader, but as a proud Bobcat alumnus.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to serve the teachers, students, families and community of Cy-Fair High School,” Heath said. “Being raised a Bobcat shaped both the person and the leader I am today, making this homecoming especially meaningful.”

Established in 1941, the school has a legacy of academic, athletic, and extracurricular excellence that has helped define the Cy-Fair community for generations. Thousands of students have graduated from Cy-Fair over the decades, many of whom—like Heath—have returned to the district in various roles to give back to the place that shaped them.
With his blend of leadership experience and personal ties to the school, many within the community see Heath’s appointment as a full-circle moment.
