Cy Springs Senior Wins at Performing Arts Houston Student Art Contest

June 14 2023

Cypress Springs High School senior Denysse Maldonado earned first place in her division at the Performing Arts Houston Student Art Contest.

The 2023 contest marked the 25th year Performing Arts Houston hosted the Student Art Contest and featured more than 650 student submissions from across the greater Houston area. This year’s contest theme, Limitless, encouraged students to explore their surroundings and reflect on their passions, while also thinking about how the world is vast and learning is endless.

Maldonado’s piece titled “Growing Pains” not only earned a first-place division finish, but Maldonado was awarded a $750 scholarship for her work.
