Cypress Ranch High School senior wide receiver, Brendan Sadler, was awarded Dave Campbell’s Football Scholar Athlete of the Week in recognition of both academic and athletic excellence. This achievement comes with a $250 prize, celebrating Sadler’s dedication on and off the field.
“I believe I earned it by the work I put in, both in the classroom and during practices, which was recognized by my coaches,” Sadler said. “I balance my academics and athletics by completing my schoolwork on my downtime and not procrastinating because that’s how I get behind, which is not good for me being a student athlete during the season.”
This achievement not only highlights his commitment to academics but also underscores his performance during games, where he plays a role in his team’s success. As a wide receiver, Sadler thrives on his contributions making big plays.
“Hearing the crowd get into the game really energizes me and lets me know they’re enjoying what we’re doing on the field,” Sadler shared.
Being named Scholar Athlete of the Week is more than just a recognition for Sadler; it serves as a testament to his hard work and dedication.
“It means that what I’m doing isn’t going unnoticed, and it gives me more motivation to push for more,” Sadler said.
As Sadler continues to impress on the field and in the classroom with aspirations of further achievements and a commitment to both his education and athletics, he embodies the spirit of what it truly means to be a scholar athlete.
