Cy-Fair Women’s Club Awards Nearly $20K to Local Nonprofits Through 2025 Ways & Means Grants
The Cy-Fair Women’s Club (CWC) has once again made a meaningful impact on the northwest Houston community through its 2025 Ways & Means Committee grant awards, distributing $19,996.32 to 20 local 501(c)(3) nonprofits. These donations, funded by proceeds from the Club’s annual “Shop 'til You Drop” marketplace, will go toward essential resources such as food, car seats, software, beds, and cancer screenings—ensuring that small but vital organizations can continue to serve neighbors in need.
Each year, CWC’s Ways & Means Committee carefully vets nonprofit applicants, prioritizing requests that support direct community services—such as equipment, supplies, or tangible materials—rather than administrative costs. In 2025, the committee reviewed over $50,000 in funding requests before making recommendations for member vote. The final slate of recipients reflects a diverse group of charitable causes working to meet increasing needs across the Cy-Fair area.
“Our Ways & Means Committee works tirelessly to research and vet local charitable organizations that need financial assistance to carry out their important work,” said Patricia Swagerty, who manages Public Relations for the CWC. “More than ever, non-profits are in great need to meet the elevated needs of people in our community.”

The annual funding is powered by CWC’s flagship event, Shop 'til You Drop, now a Cy-Fair tradition and one of the area's largest craft marketplaces. Originally launched in the late 1990s with just a few vendors, the event has ballooned into a must-attend shopping experience hosted at The Berry Center with more than 275 booths and over 5,500 attendees. The next installment of this hallmark event will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025. All event proceeds are returned to the community through student scholarships and nonprofit support.
In recent years, the Club has modernized operations by introducing electronic applications and segmenting nonprofit funding between Adopt-A-Cause (major funding) and Ways & Means (minor funding), each with distinct selection committees and focus areas. While donations typically remain under $3,000, the impact reaches far and wide.
Since 2011, CWC has contributed more than $343,996 to local organizations through its Ways & Means grants alone.
As always, the heart of the Cy-Fair Women’s Club shines through in its legacy—and its identity. In 2011, the group rebranded from the Copperfield Women’s Club to the now-iconic Cy-Fair Women’s Club, adopting pink and black as its official colors. What began with pinecones and dark green has transformed into the spirited "Pink Ladies" known today for both style and service.

But CWC is more than a fundraising group—it’s a vibrant, hands-on service organization where friendship and community go hand-in-hand. Members contribute year-round through volunteer events like Relay for Life, Meals on Wheels holiday collections, and Habitat for Humanity lunches. Monthly club meetings, held on the first Thursday at HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress, are filled with laughter, hospitality, and programs that spark connection. Whether stuffing compassion bags, preparing Sunshine Boxes for teachers, or enjoying a themed Ladies Night Out, CWC members find joy and purpose in every gathering.
“We are proud to partner with these organizations, both monetarily and often by working side-by-side with them to help carry out their mission,” said Swagerty.
