Cy-Fair ISD Student-Athletes Excel in Classroom and Competition, Earning 2025-26 Academic All-District Honors Across Multiple Sports
In Cy-Fair ISD, success isn’t measured only by scoreboards. This winter, more than 1,400 student-athletes and athletic trainers across the district proved that excellence in competition can go hand in hand with achievement in the classroom.
From football fields and volleyball courts to cross country trails, tennis courts and water polo pools, CFISD students earned 2025-26 Academic All-District honors across multiple UIL 6A districts — representing all 12 high school programs and reinforcing the district’s commitment to both academics and athletics.
For families in Cypress, Bridgeland, Jersey Village and the greater Cy-Fair area, these recognitions reflect something deeper: a culture where discipline, time management and academic accountability remain just as important as game-day performance.
Water Polo: More Than 265 Athletes Recognized Districtwide
More than 265 CFISD water polo athletes were named to the Academic All-District 16-6A and 20-6A teams, with 268 students earning recognition after finishing the 2025 season in good standing and maintaining a composite weighted GPA of 5.5 or higher during the two nine-week grading periods that make up the majority of the regular season.
All 12 high school programs were represented.
Among those honored:
- Cypress Creek High School junior Sean Adamson was recognized as part of the 2025-26 academic all-district water polo teams
- Bridgeland High School sophomore Liliana Lacefield also earned the distinction
The achievement highlights the growth of competitive water polo within CFISD and the academic expectations that remain central to participation.
Team Tennis: 200+ Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-District Honors
CFISD’s fall tennis programs also delivered strong results in the classroom, with more than 200 student-athletes qualifying for Academic All-District 16-6A and 17-6A team tennis honors.
A total of 208 students from all 12 high schools earned recognition after maintaining a composite weighted GPA of 5.5 or higher while completing the 2025 season in good standing.
