Cy-Fair High School Receives $10,000 Donation from Pink Bows Foundation in Honor of Late Alumna Madison Dubiski
On Jan. 14, Cy-Fair High School’s Best Buddies program received a $10,000 donation from the Pink Bows Foundation, a nonprofit created to honor the memory of Madison Dubiski, a former student known for her compassion and dedication to helping others.
For Brian and Michelle Dubiski, Madison’s parents, the donation represents more than a financial gift—it’s a way to ensure that their daughter’s generous spirit continues to inspire and uplift others. Madison passed away at the age of 23 during the Astroworld music festival in November 2021.

“We chose to honor things that were important to Madison, things that she participated in and loved,” said Brian Dubiski. “The Best Buddies program was very endearing to her.”
Madison’s love for the Best Buddies program stemmed from its mission of inclusion. The program pairs general education students with LIFE Skills students, fostering friendships through on-campus activities and off-campus outings, such as bowling nights and trips to the Houston Rodeo.
Riley Wurdeman, vice president of Cy-Fair’s Best Buddies program, expressed gratitude for the donation. “This donation is really important to us,” Wurdeman said. “It’s going to bring more funding toward fellowship experiences such as bringing all the buddies to the rodeo and allowing them to get involved in different events that are coming up.”
The Pink Bows Foundation was born out of the overwhelming outpouring of love that followed Madison’s passing. What started as a local initiative, with friends and neighbors tying pink bows to honor her memory, quickly spread across the country and even internationally. Thousands of pink bows became symbols of Madison’s bright personality and selfless commitment to serving others.

By the time she graduated from Cy-Fair High School, Madison had volunteered more than 500 hours and worked with 25 nonprofit organizations. Her legacy of giving inspired her parents to create the Pink Bows Foundation, which supports causes that align with her values and passions.
“We knew that after her passing that we wanted to give back,” said Michelle Dubiski. “After starting the foundation, we knew that this organization would be something we wanted to give back to.”
For the students in Cy-Fair’s Best Buddies program, the donation is about more than the activities it will fund—it’s a reminder that one person’s kindness can leave an indelible mark.
The Dubiski family hopes the donation will encourage others to embrace Madison’s spirit of inclusion and generosity. “The Pink Bows Foundation is a tribute to the life of Madison Dubiski, who passed away with so much more to offer and love to give,” the foundation states. “Her spirit lives on as we strive to make a difference in her honor.”
