Culver's Coming to Spring: New Drive-Thru Restaurant Planned on Kuykendahl Road
A new Culver's restaurant is coming to Spring, according to state construction records, bringing the popular Midwest-based chain known for its ButterBurgers and Fresh Frozen Custard to one of north Harris County's fastest-growing commercial corridors.
The $1.85 million project is planned for 18603 Kuykendahl Road in Spring, where it will redevelop a former Bank of America site into a 4,453-square-foot restaurant with a drive-thru. Construction is currently scheduled to begin on Sept. 25, 2026, with completion anticipated by Sept. 25, 2027, according to the filing.
For many Spring-area residents, enjoying Culver's currently means driving to locations in Conroe or Kingwood. If completed as planned, the new restaurant would mark the first Culver's in Spring, bringing the fast-growing chain significantly closer to families living along the Kuykendahl Road and FM 2920 corridor.
Coming Soon: Culver's Expands in Spring Along Kuykendahl Road
Located in north Harris County, the planned restaurant is expected to serve residents throughout Spring, Klein, Champions, Augusta Pines, Northampton, Gleannloch Farms and surrounding communities, making it a convenient destination for both nearby neighborhoods and commuters traveling along Kuykendahl Road.
The project is another example of the continued investment taking place throughout the Spring area, where new homes, retail centers and restaurants continue to follow population growth. For residents, that means more everyday conveniences, additional local jobs and expanded dining choices closer to home.
As with any commercial development, construction schedules can change as permitting and development move forward.
Why Culver's Has Built Such a Loyal Following
Founded in 1984 in Sauk City, Wisconsin, Culver's has grown from a single family-owned restaurant into a brand with more than 900 restaurants nationwide, earning a reputation for freshly prepared meals, friendly service and strong community involvement.
Unlike many fast-food chains, Culver's prepares its signature ButterBurgers using fresh, never frozen beef that is seared only after an order is placed, then served on a lightly buttered, toasted bun. The restaurant is equally well known for its Fresh Frozen Custard, which is made throughout the day in small batches rather than sitting for extended periods.
Its menu extends well beyond burgers and custard. Guests can also choose from Wisconsin Cheese Curds, chicken sandwiches and tenders, North Atlantic Cod and Butterfly Jumbo Shrimp dinners, fresh salads, handcrafted shakes, Concrete Mixers, and the restaurant's rotating Flavor of the Day frozen custard selection.
More Than a Burger Restaurant
While many people first discover Culver's through its ButterBurgers or frozen custard, the company has long emphasized something else as its defining characteristic: hospitality.
Founded by Craig and Lea Culver alongside Craig's parents, George and Ruth Culver, the company grew around the belief that guests should be treated like neighbors. That philosophy continues today through locally owned franchise restaurants that frequently support schools, youth organizations and community nonprofits through sponsorships, fundraising events and charitable giving.
The company also operates the Culver's Foundation, which supports agricultural education, youth development and community initiatives, while its Thank You Farmers Project helps promote the future of American agriculture.
What This Means for Spring Residents
New restaurant announcements often represent more than another place to grab dinner.
For growing communities like Spring, each commercial investment helps create additional employment opportunities, expands the local tax base and gives residents more options closer to home. The addition of another nationally recognized restaurant can also help attract complementary retail and restaurant development nearby, further strengthening the area's commercial corridor.
As more families continue moving into north Harris County, projects like this reflect the increasing demand for dining destinations that combine convenience with familiar brands.
What Happens Next?
Construction is currently scheduled to begin in September 2026, although timelines can change as permitting, site preparation and development progress.
