Copperfield Scout Earns Silver GS Award
Molly Fitzpatrick is a 15 year old freshman at Langham Creek High School and a member of Girl Scout troop 113035 in the Copperfield area. She joined Girl Scouts in first grade and recently earned her Girl Scout silver award; the highest achievement award for middle school girls. Over the years Molly and her family have made donations to Cy Fair Helping Hands and it was through their organization that Molly learned that the people they serve were in need of reusable cloth masks. Molly started sewing many years ago and was able to use her skills to address their needs. She was able to collect donations of the supplies she needed in order to use her resources wisely. She made and donated 175 masks to Cy-Fair Helping Hands and was able to distribute some of them personally in their drive thru pickups. After completing her mask project she made a power point presentation demonstrating how to make masks and informed others on Social Media how to continue to address the needs of others and the reasons for utilizing masks of these nature vs. disposable masks.
Molly will be researching another need in the community for her Gold award, the highest achievement for high school girls. She has a heart for those in need - both humans and animals.
