Copper Grove 2025 Annual Meeting Announced: Residents Encouraged to Participate in Key HOA Decisions

June 05 2025

Residents of Copper Grove are encouraged to mark their calendars for the 2025 Annual Meeting of Members, scheduled for Wednesday, June 18 at 7:00 PM at Springhill Suites Marriott, 20350 NW Freeway, Houston, TX 77065. This annual gathering is not only an important tradition—it’s also a vital part of maintaining transparency, participation, and proactive planning within the Copper Grove community.

Board of Directors Elections: Two Seats Open

A primary focus of the meeting will be the election of two directors to serve on the Copper Grove Owners Association Board. These leadership roles span two-year terms and are critical to the long-term stability and daily management of neighborhood matters.

If you are a resident interested in becoming a board member and making a lasting impact, you may submit your name for consideration by contacting Jennifer Carrillo at jenniferc@crest-management.com or calling 281-945-4655—but make sure to do so before 12:00 PM on June 18. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor during the meeting.

Serving on the board takes commitment, but it’s a rewarding opportunity to help guide Copper Grove’s future. The meeting notice highlights that serving on the Board of Directors is a meaningful way to contribute to the community, offering a chance to make a positive impact while working alongside neighbors—even if the role occasionally comes with its challenges.

Meet the Candidates: Familiar Faces Aim to Continue Their Service

Two current board members are running for re-election:

Michelle Devereaux has lived in Copper Grove for 25 years and serves as the pool liaison. She also handles insurance matters, coordinating with Crest Management to ensure timely reimbursements. She has been active in reporting incidents and helping maintain neighborhood amenities.

Michael Palermo brings over 30 years of professional experience in commercial landscaping and irrigation, areas he notes are among the top annual costs for the HOA. As Director of Operations for a national landscaping company, he emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy reserve account to fund major repairs like playground equipment and street maintenance. Palermo shared his commitment to “help keep costs down and continue to build this foundation,” referring to the association’s focus on financial sustainability and home value preservation.

Important Agenda Topics

The meeting will include a full slate of topics of interest to Copper Grove homeowners:

  • Reserve Study Overview – Casey Lewis of Reserve Advisors will present key findings and funding recommendations. This detailed overview will help residents better understand the community’s long-term maintenance planning.

  • 2025–2026 Budget and Financial Report – An overview of approved HOA expenses and financial priorities.

  • Homeowner Forum – A chance for residents to voice questions or concerns and contribute ideas.

  • Election Results – Outcomes for the two open board seats will be announced before adjournment.

Can’t Attend? Submit a Proxy

To ensure a quorum (which requires at least 5% of homeowners), the Association encourages all residents who can’t attend to submit a proxy form in advance. Homeowners can choose to use their proxy only for quorum, assign it to Board President Carrie Dalton, or designate a neighbor to vote on their behalf. Proxies must be received by 12:00 PM on June 18 and can be submitted by mail, email, fax, or hand-delivered by a neighbor.

For Copper Grove homeowners, participating in the annual meeting—either in person or via proxy—is a meaningful way to contribute to the community’s well-being and future direction. Whether you’re new to the neighborhood or a longtime resident, your voice matters.
