Viva la Vida Festival & Parade at Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin is one of those signature fall days when downtown turns into a full community celebration. Families, artists, longtime Austinites, and first-time visitors all have reasons to make their way toward Congress Avenue for this Día de los Muertos tradition.
The official festival page describes hands-on art activities, traditional foods, local artists, retail booths, a low-rider exhibition, and live performances, all beginning with a Grand Procession at noon. It is free and family-friendly, and the organizer lists nearby parking at the Frost Bank Garage while City of Austin event guidance also recommends parking garages and alternative transportation.
