Champions Park Community Garden Celebrates Grand Opening with Planting Day on September 26
The garden beds are ready—and it is finally time to start planting! Champions Park residents are invited to gather with neighbors for the grand opening and first Planting Day at the Champions Park Community Garden on Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Whether you are an experienced gardener, a first-time planter or simply looking for a fun way to spend the morning with neighbors, there will be plenty of ways to take part. Residents who are ready to dig in can help put the garden’s first plants in the ground, while several hands-on activities will be available for those who would rather keep their gloves clean.
Planting Day Activities
- Community garden planting
- Pancake station and toppings from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
- Birdhouse painting
- Garden marker decorating
- Nature Bingo
The event offers Champions Park families a chance to enjoy breakfast, get creative and help bring a new neighborhood gathering place to life. Children can paint birdhouses and decorate garden markers, while neighbors of all ages work together to give the community garden its official start.
More than a collection of planting beds, the Champions Park Community Garden is designed to become a shared space where residents can grow plants, learn about gardening and nature, and build stronger connections with one another. Planting Day is just the beginning—and every helping hand will become part of the garden’s story.
