CFISD Superintendent Installed on Cy-Fair Chamber Board of Directors

CFISD superintendent of schools, Dr. Doug Killian, was among those inducted onto the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce 2024 Board of Directors during the general membership luncheon on Jan. 23 at the Berry Center.

Dr. Killian joins 20 other community members on the Chamber Board, which serves more than 700 members as the primary advocate for Cy-Fair area businesses. Julie Hinaman, CFISD Board of Trustees member, swore in the new and returning board members. Rev. Les Carpenter of St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church was installed as the incoming Chairman of the Board of Directors.

“It’s about service. That’s where my heart is,” Dr. Killian said. “Being able to serve the community more than just one way—that’s what this is all about. The Cy-Fair community is so welcoming and friendly, and it seems like people work well together. It really is a family and I’m looking forward to serving.”

At the luncheon, twenty-one Board members were installed for 2024, including Keith Vrana, Consolidated Mills; Rick Skinner, Edward Jones; Brian Sandel, Creekwood Grill; Leslie Martone, Cy-Fair Chamber; Dr. Doug Killian, CFISD; Debbie Gibson, community leader; Mitch Medigovich, Fairway Mortgage; Marc Jones, Fish Window Cleaning; Moufid Rabieh, Elite Auto Experts; Clay Roper, Caldwell Companies; Lona Shipp, Bridgeland; Austin Bleess, City of Jersey Village; Rev. Les Carpenter, St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church; Mary Jo Johnson, Steam Commander; John LaBuda, Mathnasium; Dawn Tryon, CFISD; Daniel Arizpe, community leader; Kristin Severson, AireServe AC/Heating; Julie Peterson, Houston Methodist Willowbrook; Dr. Sonal Tuljapurkar, Club Z In- Home Tutoring; and Dr. Valerie Jones, Lone Star College—CyFair.

Since 1986, the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce has been actively involved in the growth of the Cy-Fair community. As a member-driven organization, the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce aims to serve the community by providing value to businesses through advocacy, leadership, and growth. The Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce fosters connections between Cy-Fair member businesses and establishing partnerships in transportation, education, and local infrastructure.
