CFISD Student of the Week: Vimukti Chellappa

Hamilton Middle School sixth grade student Vimukti Chellappa, who is a 2022 Difference Maker on campus, excels both inside and outside of the classroom. 

School: Hamilton Middle School  |  Age: 12  |  Grade:

Accomplishments: Chellappa is the only sixth grade student in the school’s symphony orchestra and recently won the classroom spelling bee. She’s an honor roll student and is a Hamilton Difference Maker. 

Favorite class: “My favorite class is math because when you solve a problem, it’s kind of like deciphering a code in a treasure movie and when you get it correct, that feeling is awesome.” 

Favorite things to do after class: “Play the violin and read.” 

­Favorite song:Sibelius (3rd movement) by Hilary Hahn and Vivaldi Storm by 2CELLOS.” 

Favorite website/app:Nasa.gov is my favorite because I love to see updates and cool pictures about what’s happening in space and beyond.” 

Favorite TV show: His Dark Materials because it’s based on the book series that I love.” 

Favorite movie: “I like the Harry Potter, Star Wars and Marvel movies because they are funny and interesting.” 

Ambition: “My ambitions are to become amazing at playing the violin, be an astronaut and just maybe win the Nobel Prize.” 

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I am passionate about playing the violin and getting better.” 

What inspires you?: “I am mostly inspired by people who have done something for the world that is great, but they did it even though everyone else doubted them. For example, Marie Curie, Mahatma Gandhi and even Albert Einstein.” 

What three things can’t you live without?: “My family, my violin and my books.” 

What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I am looking forward to all the fun in orchestra.”
